Escúa Canela/Stercorarius chilensis/Chilean Skua:

Bastante grande, oscura, robusta y parecida a una gaviota con grandes parches blancos en las alas (vistos en vuelo). ambién se encuentra en alta mar, donde persigue a otras aves para robar su comida. Usualmente vista sola o en pequeños grupos. El plumaje es variable, pero siempre con algunos tonos naranjas que a veces son brillantes y extensos y en otras ocasiones están limitados a la parte inferior del ala y a la base de la cola. La única skua que es probable que se vea en Chile y el sur de Argentina.

Fairly large, dark, robust, and gull-like with large white patches on its wings (seen in flight). It is also found offshore, where it chases other birds to steal their food. Usually seen alone or in small groups. The plumage is variable, but always with some orange tones that are sometimes bright and extensive and at other times limited to the underside of the wing and the base of the tail. The only skua likely to be seen in Chile and southern Argentina.
